New tele-media learning strategy launched at IGNOU special center
The Indira Gandhi National Open University IGNOU Special Study Centre (No. 1264-D) in Bhalessa has initiated a new teaching-learning strategy named "Effective Classroom through Tele-Media" to ensure total learning.
The centre headed by Sadaket Malik has got a support from ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Ahmedabad for establishing a tele-educational terminal to provide effective e-classes to attract the militancy-prone misguided youth in this remote area.
The Centre is perpetuating a series of seminars and debates as well as an awareness campaign, with help from a local NGO - National Students Welfare Association (NSWA), to make the youth familiar with the courses and objectives of the university.
Sadaket Malik, coordinator of the centre, and his team has come to the forefront to make the area educationally advanced, by attracting as many students as possible towards quality higher education.
Bhalessa - located 370 kilometers away from Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is a border area connecting the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
However, the tattering education system and lack of rural information centers has led the youth of the area to become an easy prey of nefarious designs.
"In view of the tattering educational affairs of the area, the NSWA NGO is constantly working for peace and education," he said.
Referring to the vast scope of computer education, Sadaket Malik said that the revolution of Information Technology holds a bright future for computer professionals. "Already our country is marching ahead in computers and gradually the computer trained will assume greater role," he added.
He praised IGNOU for taking up the massive programme of education through it unique system, which does not require elaborate and costly infrastructure.
Malik assured IGNOU of all cooperation in providing support service to the students who have opted for some course. He added that a tele knowledge centre scheme of the government is also in the pipeline.
