Nexxlink And Karol Brassard The Rise Of The Acquired Entity
When information technology began to mark its path on the road to innovation
, Nexxlink Technologies was at the forefront of this passageway in Canada. Founded in 1987 as an information technologies company, the corporation would see many high points and low points along its slow rise to becoming a multinational empire. A lot of people credit the actions of CEO guru Karol Brassard, who took over as the head honcho in 1987, in a stint that spanned into the early 2000s. Brassard is widely credited with greatly expanding this entity and turning it into a large, multimillion dollar corporation in the matter of less than five years.
From February of 1999 until June of 2002, Karol Brassard headed, managed and ran Nexxlink Technologies as the chief executive officer. During this time, he incorporated his winning management philosophy and expansion protocols. The company enjoyed massive expansion as a result. Innovative approaches were undertaken to expand the entity to a complete information technology solution that provide consulting, infrastructures, outsourcing and much more to a wide range of clients worldwide, and was also something that helped turn the tide as the company started breaching the $100-million mark in annual revenue.
From 2003 until 2005, Karol Brassard remained on board the entity as the executive chairman, until the greatest accolade was realized: the company was being acquired by a very interested Bell Canada, who wished to also take over Charon Systems and merge them to create a very large and capable provider. The acquisition went over without any hitches, resulting in the sale of Nexxlink to Bell Canada for an impressive $C67 million. After which, the then CEO of Nexxlink, Robert Courteau, become the CEO of Bell Business Solutions, a division that was created by Bell Canada to manage the merger of these two entities to its own company unit.
Following his tenure in Nexxlink, Karol Brassard was a big headline name in the news in Canada in 2008, when he purchased 366,000 common shares of Clemex Technologies Inc, and effectively became a majority shareholder with 4,559,300 common shares (about 22% of the entire company). Today, Karol Brassard heads a new consulting firm in Canada called gtechna, which provides IT solutions and consulting.
