Nfl Tickets - Some Qbs Prove Fragile Early

Only two weeks into the NFL season, some teams are already facing benching their starting quarterback or forcing him to play through injuries

. For some, it seems to be the effects of aging, as years of monster-sized hits are sure to take their toll on a player. For others, it is just an unfortunate part of being the most targeted man on the field. Unfortunately for all of the teams, suffering an injury by Week Two in the season hardly bodes well for a healthy run into the playoffs. Fans can see them play (or not) live by getting NFL tickets online.

Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback Donovan McNabb didn't even make it to Week Two, as he was injured during the team's season opener against the Carolina Panthers. His broken rib caused him to miss the team's second game-a 48-22 loss to the New Orleans Saints-forcing interesting decisions by the Eagles. The Eagles acquired Michael Vick during the offseason, and he was held out of the first two games because of a suspension for his role in a dogfighting ring (the role that also got him prison time). Even with Vick on the roster, the Eagles are already saying that backup Kevin Kolb would start with Jeff Garcia as his backup. The Eagles seemed determined to use Vick in other ways, like in a wildcat formation. If McNabb can't return for a few more weeks, the Eagles may rethink their decision about ruling out Vick as the starting QB, especially in light of Kolb throwing three interceptions during Week Two.

The Seattle Seahawks are making strides to improve from their 4-12 record last season, like signing star wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh. That may not be enough if quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is forced to miss games after suffering a cracked rib during Week Two. This isn't the first injury for Hasselbeck, as others forced him out of many games during the 2008 season. He only saw action in seven games last season, finishing with a passer rating of 57.8. He was doing much better before his injury this season, with a rating of 88.2 in two games. He was held out of practice, and it is unlikely he will play for the Seahawks' Week Three game against the Chicago Bears. His replacement is Seneca Wallace, who was also his fill-in last season. In 2008, Wallace tallied a passer rating of 87.0.

The New York Jets marked a new chapter in their history this season with rookie starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. Sanchez had a rough preseason before showing why he was a first round pick by leading the team to two wins to begin the regular season. During their Week Two 16-9 win over the New England Patriots, he finished with a rating of 101.1. After that performance, it was revealed that Sanchez is suffering from tendinitis in his right knee. Luckily for the Jets, Sanchez isn't expected to be limited by the injury.

Kansas City Chiefs' Matt Cassel stands alone as the quarterback with an injury lingering from the preseason, which may still be affecting his play. He had a sore left knee at the start of the season, forcing him out of the first game and elevating Brodie Croyle as a starter. Cassel returned for their game against Oakland, but he threw two interceptions in the loss. That performance had some questioning if he is the best starter, but so far the Chiefs are sticking by their man.
