Several non-profit organizations (NGOs) against depression such as Natasha Goulbourn Foundation

, has organized a world-wide aggressive campaign in educating and informing the people about depression. The foundation is encouraging people with depression to heal in a natural way rather than automatically take medications to avoid serious side effects from antidepressant medications.

Just like a recent study about women suffering from depression has put their unborn children at risk when they take an antidepressant like Zoloft. Some women who took the medicine while pregnant are filing a Zoloft birth defects lawsuits against Pfizer, the manufacturer of the antidepressant, for the birth defects.These situations can be avoided if they were given an option of treatment.

Recently, a report from Reuters states that talk therapy can be a good alternative to get rid of depression, however, some patients complained that the therapys sessions are too costly compared with the prescribed antidepressant drugs like Zoloft which is being covered by their health insurance.

Zoloft is used as a treatment for people with major depressive illness which is considered as a serious medical illness causing mood and physiological changes that interrupts a persons normal daily routines.

Depressive symptoms is the biochemical imbalance in the brain and considered also as a disturbance in the brains chemical messenger called neurotransmitters.

There is a tendency a patient will experience Zoloft withdrawal symptoms once he suddenly stops taking it.

The most common side effects of Zoloft includes nausea, diarrhea or loose stools, tremor, insomnia, drowsiness, and dry mouth while on medication.

Its best to observe ones behavior for at least two weeks like how a person act in social gatherings before consulting with a doctor and taking antidepressant medications because if its just a minor case, Its better to seek support groups, counselling or other therapies.

Those women who wants to become pregnant, who are pregnant or is nursing their infant is advised to contact their doctors to avoid potential Zoloft birth defects that can lead to a Zoloft lawsuit.
