If you don't find a niche market for the product or service you offer

, you will most probably fail. Most new affiliates usually try to market to everyone with anything they think people will buy from them. This is like jumping into a swimming pool hoping not to get wet. If they are going to be successful they need to find a niche market.

What is a niche market?

A niche market is composed of individuals or businesses that have similar interests and needs, which can be easily identified, targeted, and reached.

Finding a niche market means finding a great product or service for a highly targeted audience.


"So how do I find a niche market?" you ask. The answer is going against everything you have been told up till now! It doesn't matter if you are passionate about a product. It doesn't matter that you choose a product you know all about. You are wasting your time trying to find a market for your product.

Doesn't it make more sense to find a hot market, then sell them a product?

So here's the scoop:

1. Find a hungry crowd...find people who are passionate about something. Something they care about or a problem they have that they need to satisfy. This has nothing to do with what you like or want but what product or service you can offer them. For example: people suffering from acne are very passionate about anything that will help them solve their problem.

2. Find out what they want...once you have zeroed in on a target market you need to find out what they want to solve their problem or satisfy a need. You can do this with everyday activities. Searching the web, watching television, just talking with people and listening to what they are saying will give you tons of info about what is hot and what is not. Talking with someone trying to lose weight will give you a whole lot of ideas about how passionate they are about looking better. They will usually give you the answer you are looking for.

3. Put it in front of them and give it to them...this is where the work comes in but also is the part that should be the most fun. Once you have done all the research it is time to find the best way to get the word to your niche market. There is all kinds of advertising methods, some free, some costly, some strange, and some very creative. You need to find what works best for you. Start out slow. Don't just start throwing money at an ad campaign until you know that it is going to work. Test, research, test, and so forth. Just keep it simple.

Very Important: If you don't do 1 and 2 you are wasting your time with number 3!


Keep in mind that you don't want to pick some huge niche because the competition is going to be brutal and more often than not you aren't going to make a penney. You are much better off to pick several small niche markets and then dominate each one. Make sense? Ten dollars each from 100 campaigns is better than 100 dollars from one campaign. Get me?
