. Nightlife in Madrid is great. Typical night starts with a dinner late at night around 09.00-10.00 pm. and then people flock to the outdoor cafes, bars and nightclubs of the city. The nightclubs in Madrid remain open till dawn. From Madrid Lounges to top nightclubs, here' a look at some of the Best Clubs Madrid has to offer.

Moma

This is a very smart nightclub, where people do make an effort to look elegant. It attracts the posh crowd, and you won't see any jeans or trainers here. Music is a mix of pop and house, and the dcor is very stylish. Expect to pay around 15.00 a drink. Moma is seriously cool. It opens from Tuesday - Wednesday from 20:00 - 01:00 and Thursday - Saturday from 20:00 - 02:00.

Macumba

This nightclub is huge, with over 1,600 square metres. They've got all the latest lighting technology and are one of the most popular clubs in Madrid. At the weekends you'll see go-go dancers, and all kinds of performers. Macumba is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and all day Sundays. The entry price varies depending on which DJ is playing, but is usually over 10.00. They open at 00:00 midnight, and close at 06:00.

Chocolateria San Gines

Chocoholics must seek out this bar. It is tucked down a quaint passageway just off Calle Arenal near Puerta del Sol. They serve famous thick hot chocolate and sticks called 'churros' or 'porras' that you are supposed to dip into the chocolate. It is an addictive and delicious combination, and only costs a couple of euros for a cup and a plate of churros. This bar has been established for over 100 years, and is very popular.

Maxime

This nightclub has a stylish look created by a well-known Spanish interior designer. There are lamps and urns and old fashioned pillars which give Maxime a unique look. It plays a variety of house and techno music on Thursday to Sunday. Friday is the night to go for the most mainstream sounds, and Saturdays are more focused on deeper specialist house music.

Cool

This nightclub is the epitome of its name. Its interior design makes you feel like you are back in the 70s. There's loud colours, prints and gorgeous mirrors. Cool is open between Thursday and Sunday, and plays house music.

Timing of Clubs

It's important to remember that a nightclub in Madrid won't get going until at least midnight, and most won't close until 06:00 or 07:00. People don't go out until at least 22:00.It's this slow start to the night that helps them to stay awake all night and enjoy the Madrid nightclubs.

Nightclub Price

The bigger and more commercial nightclubs will charge up to 15.00 for entry. This will usually include your first drink, which can be anything. Smaller clubs may not even charge, or if they do it will be more like 5.00 to get through the door.
