Nightlife On The Costa Del Sol
The Costa del Sol in Andaluca attracts visitors from all over Europe for its beaches
, more sunshine than you can shake a stick at, and the endless night life. Unlike clubs and bars in North America, where time constraints has you headed home in a cab around 3am, while visiting the Costa del Sol, you can expect to exit a disco or club promptly at sunrise.
Needless to say, the South of Spain is a huge hit with the younger crowds. But thats not to say people of all ages cant enjoy the Spanish nights or the life-style. There are a few things you will quickly notice while touring around the villages or small cities on the Costa del Sol.
For one, the Spanish take their family life very seriously. In fact its not too unusual for their small children to be out with them late at night to enjoy some Tapas and drinks with some friends. Many in the west unfortunately look down on this not understanding the cultural differences with European life styles. The Spanish, among many other European countries, dont depend on babysitters to take care of their children. In fact, they cherish each moment with family and no matter where they go, or even what time it is their children are always close in tow.
If you plan on frequenting a club, disco or bar the second thing you might notice is much younger patrons. Although Spains legal drinking age is 18 (3 years younger than America), the authoritative attitude is Spain is very relaxed. So, dont be shocked if you see teens as you as 16 dancing and drinking up a storm at the discos.
Putting the cultural differences aside, checking out the night life on the Costa del Sol has something for everyone with all kinds of tastes. In Malaga alone, there are actually more bars per square metre than anywhere else in Europe. You can choose from classy fine dining restaurants overlooking the Med, simple tapas bars, casinos, English pubs, beach bars and of course Flamenco shows up and down the coastal towns. Going a bit further west along the coast is Torremolinos and Benalmadena, which are famous for their thriving nightlife that is open all night.
Another great city to check out is Fuengirola and Fish Alley. Nestled in the Spanish back streets, tourists love Fish Alley for its international cuisine and tapa bars. Here you will find a bit of everything from everywhere. If your tastes included a little bit of fame and glory, you can head to Banus and walk the Golden Mile, you may actually run into some celebrities as well.
And we cant leave without giving Estepona a shout out. This old city has evolved into a fantastic holiday resort, with more and more tourists taking notice each year. The towns nightlife is found at Puerto Deportivo which is well known for some of the areas best fish restaurants.
No matter what choice you make, prepare yourself for one heck of nightand a long one! If you think the Costa del Sol is exactly the kind of trip you need then remember that Malaga Airport is your destination. Here you can find
cheap Shuttle Service to get you where you need to go.
