The Lunarlon Foam cushioning platform was a concept originating from Nike's Running shoes, and has been used in the design of Lunar Control to solve the issues of weight and comfort.

Nike Fly Wire technology was, amazingly, inspired from the complex engineering benefits of a suspension bridge. Nike wanted a lightweight, structural solution that worked to secure the mid-foot onto the footbed. This proved to be important to help golfers feel grounded at the critical moment of increasing clubhead speed during the swing.
