One big difference about the DSi XL is that the console has 93% larger screen than Nintendo DS Lite, this would make you have a better grip playing the games. With this feature you can also select analog or digital clock and set your prefer alarm or snooze with preset ring, or any sound created with Nintendo DSi Sound. Other pre loaded apps are Brain Age Express Math and Brain Age Express Arts and Letters, both apps allow the user to challenge them self with certain math and spelling exercises.

The DSi XL also connects players to friends using the embeded PictoChat software. One can write messages or draw pictures using the stylus pen and share them within Internet Wi-Fi Connection. Except for the DSi XL bundle package - which offers you red colored console - DSi XL systems come in burgundy, bronze and midnight blue, for certain area they also come in white and yellow.
