Nintendo Discusses To Wii U Devotees And Deals With Authorities
Even now that the E3 gaming event is over, we have been hearing a lot of buzz about
Nintendo's current announcement of the Wii U, its new gaming console. Everyone has mixed emotions about the upcoming gaming console in the market and how it might affect the gaming industry once it hits the shelves.
The Japanese gaming company has set its release date in November this year, a few weeks before the Christmas holiday. That is why it is expected to hit high in terms of sales since there will absolutely be a lot of gamers waiting for it. During the recent E3 event, the audience were left hanging because the gaming company did not announce how much the new console will cost when it gets released in the market.
Most of the gaming analysts from diverse companies are saying that the best and most reasonable price for the new console is less than $300. In fact, they keep on saying that the optimal price for it is $250 or even less because the new console does not have that "killer app" to boost popularity and sales.
A lot of gamers might have been really impressed with the hands-on experience they had during the E3 event a few days ago. However, several critics found more flaws than praises for the new console.
They were not even astonished with most of the new game offerings for it. They said there were game demos that didn't really have the need to use the tablet-type console but the gamers used it anyway.
Despite all these criticisms about the new console, Sony Europe boss Jim Ryan admitted that the release of the Wii U could possibly pose a threat to the PlayStation brand. At the same time, he says that he is still certain that their 63 million loyal PlayStation users will stick to their brand even with the new console's release by the last quarter of the year.
Sony is also one of the exhibitors during the most recent E3 event and just like the Japanese gaming company, they have brand-new games for their users.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also said that he thinks developers are only employing just half of the new console's full potential at this time. Also, the company has made a heavy investment on the development of the new console. However, they had to bargain on the processing power to make it more affordable once it is released in the market.
They have made a new hardware system with new technology and new GPUs for the gaming console. If they would use the same upgrades to its processing power, the new console would be ridiculously pricey for the end users.
For the company's Senior Managing Director and General Manager, Shigeru Miyamoto, he believes that the release of the company's latest gaming console will absolutely change the way games are played forever. His goal for the new GamePad is to be the first screen the players will interact with when they step into their own living rooms. Making the new GamePad a significant part of family entertainment is not a very impossible goal anymore.
