Nissan Introduces Advanced Safety Systems

Around the world, there are more than 806 million cars and light trucks on the roads

and the engines of these burns over a billion cubic meters of petrol/gasoline and diesel fuel yearly. The numbers are increasing day in and day out. Newer models, technologies, speed options and features renewed or added in every new car for improved comfort, performance, economy of fuel and safety of the passengers. Still Traffic collisions or road accidents are on a rise. A number of factors responsible for collision may be vehicle design, speed of operation, road design, road environment, driver skill and/or impairment and driver behavior.

Today roads are full of vehicles all types, sizes and speed and increasing numbers of road accidents. Safety of passengers is the major concern today. Most Commonly found safety features in cars are seat belts, airbags, Anti-lock brakes, Safety glass, Four-wheel drive and more. But more and more safety systems are required to minimize the risk of collisions that cause huge loss of human life, disability and property.

Nissan Motor Co, Japan has recently introduces its latest safety technologies to help minimize fatal and serious injuries caused by accidents involving vehicles. These are most advanced steps in the field of safety in vehicles. New technologies consists of

1. Multi-Sensing System with Rear Camera- In this system the improved signal processing technology of vehicle-equipped cameras helps in the detection of people, other vehicles, road and obstacles around and rear of the car, road conditions in the rear and sides of the vehicle, to alert drivers of possible collision risks.

2. The Acceleration Suppression for Pedal Misapplication- It helps the drivers to take avoidance behavior before an accident might occur. It helps chances of collisions with obstacles such as walls due to the drivers misapplication of the accelerator instead of the brake or pressing on the accelerator too hard, Nissan has developed a function to recognize whether the vehicle is on a road or in a car park by using image signal data acquired by the Around View Monitors four unit cameras.

3. The Predictive Forward Collision Warning System- that uses millimeter-wave radar to detect the deceleration of the second vehicle in front, alerts the driver in advance of a sudden drop in speed of the vehicle two cars ahead. When the system determines the need to decelerate, it warns the driver in advance with a buzzer, signal on display, and also by tightening the seat belt.

These amazing systems are wonderful and I am sure these will be extremely useful for the safety of passengers to avoid any collision. Even if they do collide passengers will suffer minimum injuries. Hope Nissan cars in 2012 will be equipped with these safety systems for better safety and easy driving. With these systems most nervous drivers can be confident and drive to their destinations with content and happiness.

Thanks Nissan for this inventions and hope to reduce the number of road accident or collisions.

Three cheers to Nissan Safety shield technologies!
