No Drop In Tourism Numbers To Seychelles According To Tourism Board Ceo

Even though there has been a lack of nonstop flights to the Seychelles from Europe

, the head of the country's Tourism Board, Ms. Elsia Grandcourt has been quick to reassure partners that there has been growth in tourism arrivals to the third most populated island, La Digue.

Her comments came at the third association meeting for the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism industry at which Minister for Internal Affairs and Transport Mr. Joel Morgan was chairing. According to statistics, there has been an eight percent increase in arrival numbers to the Seychelles although there has been a drop in some core markets due to the lack of nonstop flights. However, the tourism board in the Seychelles is working extremely hard to ensure that tourism growth continues. At the moment, France continues to be the main source of tourists to the islands with Russia and South Africa following close behind. There are plans to push the Seychelles as a tourist destination to a number of new emerging markets such as Asia.

Ms. Grandcourt was keen to point out that negotiations are still under way to try and get new routes and that at the Routes Africa forum they are planning to work on getting some new flights to the islands. This forum will be held from 8th to 10th July. While they continue in this vein, there are sure to be new routes to and from the Seychelles which would allow for a greater number of tourists to the islands.

A holiday in the Indian Ocean is synonymous with luxury and relaxation and many of the resorts here cater for your every need. With stunning accommodation and delicious cuisines on offer, you will really have a fabulous holiday and will return home with fond memories and a totally fresh and relaxed state of mind.
