The world is a busy place. The more modern we become, the less time we seem to have. Who has time to sit in front of the mirror each morning, perfecting our look with glossy lips and smokey eyes? In the real world of family life, getting the kids to daycare, running for the subway and late business meetings, many women simply don't have time to beautify.

You don't need to look like a runway model to head into work, but that doesn't mean you have to go completely bare of make up either. A few tweaks to your morning routine can freshen up your natural features and keep you looking your best.

If you don't have time for lots of make up, stick to the basics. You need to apply moisturizer anyway, so choose one that's tinted and also has an SPF factor. You won't loose any time applying it, but you will even out your skin tone and leave your house looking fresh.

Throughout the day, lips can become dry and lipstick tends to cake up. If you don't have time for constant touch ups of colour, try a moisturizing lip gloss or even a pocket tube of petroleum jelly. Not only will this add a glossy shine to your lips, it will keep them in good condition and show off your natural colour. Plus, you won't be leaving a set of lips behind on your coffee cup.

If you don't have time for fancy eyeshadow, then go with one colour. Choosing a single neutral base colour is quick and easy to apply all over your lid and under the brow. It gives you a natural look, and also camouflages any redness or vein lines that often show on bare eyelids. A quick rim of the eye with black or brown eyeliner and matching mascara will brighten up your eyes, without spending hours in front of the mirror.

In less time than it takes the coffee to brew, you can uplift your appearance and look like you rolled out of bed looking polished and beautiful. There's always time to beautify!
