Share:Nokias GSM devices are some of the most interesting phone you will ever find. After all, they are often cheap, practical and come with very unique features. Not that Nokia always made GSM devices this way, the Finnish manufacturer is also known for making cheap, run-of-the-mill seemingly disposable devices as well. Recently though, Nokia has taken the level of producing GSM phones up a notch by ensuring that each 2G device had it own unique quality that makes it worth buying, in this case, the Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition comes with what can only be described as the most comprehensive GPS capabilities on a GSM phone.
Phone Overview
The nicest feature of the phone is also the most accessible. This device has a quick navigation key that instantly gives users access to the GPS function. The one-touch maps key will give you a quick calculated route to your destination easily. The Nokia Maps coverage is very reliable and easy to use, giving you step by step guidance until you reach your destination.
In addition to the maps feature, the phone also supports the Ovi Share system; allowing users to upload images and videos to share their experiences with friends. The phone comes with a pretty decent 2 mega pixel camera that takes good quality images and videos. Ovi Share is an exclusive Nokia service under the Nokia Ovi Store.
Having this mobile while you are on the go is pretty handy, not only do you get to have a GPS navigator, it also lets you connect up to 10 different email accounts for instant access anywhere, anytime. This feature will prove most useful when you need to get abreast of the latest emails but do not have the time to log in to each account separately.
More About Music and Maps
The maps feature, as said above, can be easily accessed with a single key. Of course, there is more to the feature than easy access. The GPS capabilities of the Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition are very impressive thanks to features such as points of interest which will mark landmarks, locales, restaurants and other significant locations. The phone comes with pre-installed Nokia maps which makes navigation very quick and easy.
Listening to music is a feature found in almost all phones, including this one. When you are on the road for long periods having music will help you enjoy the trip. The Nokia Music Player in the phone allows for custom playlists, allowing users to set favorites and will read media straight off your 2GB SD card. The phone has a 3.5mm audio jack for listening with your favorite earphones.
Coming in 2010
This impressive little mobile phone will have a 2.2 inch TFT display, a 1020 mAh battery, support for GPRS and EDGE as well as a lifetime navigation license from Ovi Maps. It is too bad that the phone will not be making it to the holiday sales and is slated to appear around April next year. The Q2 launch may seem a little too far off, but the device should be worth the wait, hopefully, Nokia adds a few more features by then.About the Author:
