. It was slated to be released in the UK on August 25, 2010. Lightweight and sturdy, the scales tip more towards the plumper side for this phone; the thickness of the phone is 0.5 inches. The weight of the phone is 135 grams. The memory of the phone is also commendable because when you buy the phone from the store, you get 16GB of built in space and if you find that insufficient, you can expand the memory up to 32 GB or 48GB with the help of a micro SD card. If there are large files that you want to transfer instantly, then the phone has a USB card to make your job easier.

The most attractive feature of this phone is its top of the world multimedia features. The most talked about feature of Nokia N8 is its 12-mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. The camera is housed behind the phone. Nokia reveals that this phone has the largest sensor when compared to other phones or ordinary digital cameras. Users who have taken photos with this camera are quite pleased with the way the snaps have turned out. They can't stop raving about the clarity of the photos. The resolution is 16:9 nHD or 640 * 360 pixels. They can also take high quality videos with the phone, then make them into HDTV, and edit them according to their wishes. The phone comes with a built in edit suite for the purpose. The sound quality of the phone is something to brag about and it offers a true theatre like performance with Dolby Digital.

To make the entertainment system complete, Nokia N8, allows the user complete access to television programs, both local and global. They can enjoy programs from National Geographic, watch news on CNN and enjoy movies from Paramount and Entertainment without interruption. You can listen to the radio and play games using the touch user interface.

The smartphone acts as a good social media and people can manage their accounts in Facebook and Twitter, so they can keep a tab on the activities of their friends, share photos and view live feeds.

It is actually the software part that the N8 has nothing to write home about. The good part about the software is that it has the latest Ovi maps along with GPS and navigation facilities that allow you to drive and walk through an area of your choice. It helps you to browse through countries and see what is there as well. The software that is used in the phone is Symbian's S^3 revamp. Some people have claimed to be dissatisfied with the topography of the software. There is nothing new about this software except for some tweaks here and there. It is also a bit slow and there is chance that it might crash on you when browsing through social networking sites and certain browser windows. The keyboard that flashes on the screen, however, makes it a bit cramped for use.
