Nokia launched its third X series phone Nokia X2 in June 2010
. It is available in either blue on silver or red or black color and like the other X series phone it is also a candy bar phone. Its weight is around 2.9 oz and dimensions of 4.4x1.9x0.5 inches.
Nokia X2 is a GPRS enabled phone with GSM and EDGE technology. The dimension of its screen is 2.2 inches and is of TFT type. It has a 256 color display and a resolution of about 240x320 pixels. It has no external display.
To our surprise Nokia X2 features a 5 MP camera with LED flash and supports a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. The major drawback of its camera is it lacks Auto Focus feature so you may encounter problem while capturing objects at different distances. X2 also supports video recording like any other Nokia handset but you will not find any secondary camera on the front side. The BL-4c battery used in Nokia X2 provides a standby time of 624 hours and talk time of 13.4 hours.
The device comes with an internal memory of 48 MB which is expandable to 16 GB via micro SD/SDHC cards. Coming over to connectivity it has Bluetooth (version 2.1) with A2DP support and a mini USB port to support PC connection. The phone lacks Wi-Fi but can be used as a fax machine.
Nokia X2 can play MP3 ringtones and has all basic essentials like vibration on call and contact photo ID. Being a GPRS enabled phone it supports MMS facility and you can use the T9 dictionary while typing your text. You can surf the web pages using the inbuilt web browser of Nokia X2. The web browsing experience is not much pleasing but again considering the price tag it is reasonably good. All major audio/video formats are supported namely eAAC, MP3, WMA, H263 and MP4. The device has a universal 3.5 mm jack and dedicated music keys for music lovers. The FM has an inbuilt antenna so you need not connect the earphones on listen to any FM frequency. Overall the phone has impressive features and has a reasonable price which can suit any pocket.
