Nokia X3 has been powered with 70 MB embedded memory and users can enhance it up to 16 GB furthermore 2 GB card is provided. Whereas Nokia E72 has 128 MB RAM, 250 MB onboard memory and up to 16GB memory is expandable here as well but like X3 its not having included memory card. The X3 supports 2G network and the camera is 3.2 MP but E72 supports both 2G as well as 3G network and here the camera is 5 MP. In terms of connectivity Nokia X3 has got HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE, USB and Bluetooth whereas apart from these, its contender is exceptionally loaded with 3G HSDPA, HSUPA and WLAN Wi-Fi too.

The X3 renders SMS, MMS, Audio Messaging, Instant Messaging and Email but on E72 you will get SMS, MMS, Instant Messaging and Email with Attachment as well as Nokia Browser, HTML & XHTML browser. Some of the features are completely absent on Nokia X3 like assisted GPS Navigation with Nokia Maps Application, PDF Viewer, Document Editor, video call camera but E72 is having all these.

As far as entertainment is concerned Nokia X3 possesses music player along with Dedicated Music Keys, Stereo Speaker, Volume Key, FM Radio RDS, MP3, Midi, Video & Polyphonic Ringtones and video player supporting MPEG4, 3GP & WMV. On the contrary its competitor comprises music player (MP3 & AAC), FM Radio RDS, Visual Radio, Voice Commands and video player supporting WMV/RV/MP4/3GP files.
