Nose Bleeding Causes
Nosebleeds are not pleasant unless you are a Nosferatau
, one of his victims or at least a bedbug. The pain in bleeding in the nose may not be much in most cases but you will look an eyesore and may set off some alarmist reaction from others. A few hours into the shift, the patient calls and states that their nose was bleeding. Upon entering the room, there was blood every where. Trailing from the bathroom to the bed. The blood was pouring out, saturating towels and making it almost difficult for the patient to breath.
Other influencing factors include infection, trauma, elevated blood pressure, alcohol abuse, non-allergic and allergic rhinitis, and some hereditary bleeding disease. Smoking cigarettes may dry and break the lining of the nose, resulting to nose bleeding. Keep applying pressure for at least 5 minutes at a time. Don't check to see if it is still bleeding over this period of time as it is important to keep continuous pressure. After this period of time let go briefly to see if the bleeding has stopped. If not, give it another 5 minutes.
Once the bleeding has stopped, try to prevent any further irritation to the nose for the next 24 hours. Avoid sneezing, blowing your nose, picking your nose or straining. Any severe nose bleed, that lasts more than 15 minutes should warrant a visit to the local Emergency Room or doctors office. Doctor may prefer Cauterization, this process involves using a special solution called silver nitrate or an electrical or heating device to burn the artery so that it stops bleeding. Excessive and recurrent bleeding must not be tolerated and should be consulted to a physician right away. It is better to look for medical solution than suffer any worse condition later on. Nose bleeding must not be ignored.
Bleeding from the anterior part of the nose means that our little nose-pickers slightly injure these vessels while "exploring" their noses, with resulting epistaxis. During the very driest months of winter or summer, even gently blowing the nose can result in significant bleeding. For a parent, a nose bleed in their child can be extremely perturbing and seeing your child bleeding, often heavily is not a very nice experience. At least as importantly, and probably a little more so, is the already mentioned need to remain calm. Some, not all, blood pressure patients have a tendency to bleed in their noses. Anger is something they had better avoid. If you have to be angry, do not accentuate it by working on it and relishing it.
