For most people their experience with the windows utility Notepad will be either very rare
, or very frustrating! While Notepad does do its job of being a simple text editor, it can often by quite limiting.One might thing that a text editor does not need many features, and merely displaying and saving text files should enough. However after using a powerful text editor such as Notepad++ you might feel different.

Once you start using an application like Notepad++ you will begin to find use for all these features and will wonder how you got by without them.
Like Notepad++ there are many other applications which offer similar functionality, however Notepad++ is certainly among the best, and it is free and open source as well.
