Don't let vacationing on a budget make you think you can't find anything to do. There are plenty of things to do in Halifax and not all of them cost money. Ask your travel agent for help, because there are many activities to fill out your vacation plans without costing an arm and leg.

If you'd rather be outside then plan your trip from June through October to take advantage of the best weather that Halifax has to offer. Visit the beaches and parks, and take in the numerous summertime festivals, great for all types of family activities.

You can tour the public gardens when they are in bloom in the summer. Or take a walk through the historic Martello Tower. The public gardens features a band stand and a lively duck pond. Yet another park is Sir Sandford Flemming Park. Dingle Tower is located here, calling up memories of Rapunzel and her long hair.

Free Halifax festivals: The summertime Halifax Buskers Festival welcomes visitors to the waterfront for creative, and funny shows. The festival is free however the buskers rely on the generosity of the audience. Likewise, the Halifax waterfront welcomes many impressive vessels for Tall Ships Nova Scotia. The next Tall Ships happens in 2012.
