Now Hemp Style Is Back In Fashion

Believe it or not, it isn't just dresses and colors that go in and out of style

. Fabrics actually do as well. For a good part of the 70's, artificial, man-made fibers were all the rage, including the hemp style. People loved them because they offered bright, vivid colors, and did not require ironing. Soon, though, people realized that when they sweated in them, they started to smell bad, so they went back to natural fibers.

Hemp Fabric has Been Around for Centuries

Hemp style is the latest style, although it has been around for centuries. Hemp is one of the oldest fibers made into clothing and it has lasted because it is strong, soft, pliable, lasts a long time, washes well, and is also biodegradable (when you're done with it!).

Hemp style is not what it once was, however. If you look at clothes that were made of hemp in the late 60's and early 70's, most of them were handmade from simple hemp patterns. Hemp clothing today is well-made, properly designed, and in most cases if you weren't told that it was hemp, you wouldn't know it.

Hemp Style is Making Its Comeback

You can find hemp style in any number of clothing styles and pieces. There is, of course, casual organic hemp clothing which is used in anything from around-the-house wear to yoga wear. You will also find hemp fashion in high-end stores that are catering to a more dressy market.

Reason's for Hemp Fabric and Clothing Coming Back

There are two reasons why hemp is becoming more and more in style these days. First of all, modern fabric manufacturers have found ways to make hemp more attractive, softer, and brighter. Secondly, because hemp is so easy on the environment, and certainly a much greener choice than cotton, people want to use it. If you are being environmentally-friendly in every other part of your life, then why not in your clothing choices as well?
