Nyoni's Kraal

Nyoni's Kraal is an African restaurant offering traditional African cuisine as well as a mix of Eastern and European flavors, recipes and cultures

. The dishes include genuine dishes from across South Africa, they are all prepared by a team of chef's that are trained at Nyoni's own culinary school.

The menu at Nyoni's Kraal changes seasonably to incorporate fresh produce that is available at the time. While some restaurants have live music playing to accompany the meal, Nyoni's also showcases the talents of local poets and actors as well. Nyoni's also includes a tavern and bar, which they prefer to think of as a shebeen, many local jazz artists perform at the informal but chic shebeen, which may be understated, but includes wine from some of the finest wine estates in the area.

For those planning on a function, Nyoni's upper level is reserved for private dinners, lunches and conferences and can seat a maximum of 180 guests.

Nyoni's are child friendly and provide a children's menu, high chairs and a children's play area that includes a play station, cartoon network and coloring in sheets.

Much traditional food is available at Nyoni's Kraal, incorporating all of South Africa's many diverse cultures; such as babotie; boerewors and pap; rooti; umleqwa; umpokoqo; amanqina; rooster brood; vetkoek; mapane worms; amatumbu and smileys (half a sheeps head)the typical South African food that many of the country's inhabitants grew up with. The chefs at Nyoni's have also come up with some innovative meals such as kraal house salad, pap and meat towers and a kraal potjie and have also combined the traditional food of two cultures such as garlic and amarula snails.

Platters and buffets, offering a variety of flavors and catering to a variety of tastes are also available, as is an extensive a la carte menu and wine list.

There is also an onsite shop where various African arts and crafts are available, the articles are made by their in-house craft center, which also supplies the restaurant.
