O2 Offers The Htc Hd Mini
The latest manufacturer to join the ranks of releasing 'mini' edition mobile phones is HTC
, they have now joined the market with their HTC HD Mini further expanding the range of new mini phones currently available.
It would seem that there is a good appetite for these new models with Nokia being first to launch their Nokia N97 Mini followed by Sony Ericsson with their Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia Mini Pro editions and now LG have got in on the act with their latest LG GD880 Mini phone.
The HTC HD Mini is a miniature version of the HTC HD2, this new phone manages to slim down the main touch screen display to 3.2 inches whilst still squeezing in the same feature set of the previous 4.3 inch screened model.
That means that there is still a 5.0 mega pixel camera on the reverse of the phone with autofocus and photolight, WiFi, HSDPA, Bluetooth and GPS plus the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system powering this new pocket friendly model.
As with the Nokia N97 Mini this new phone is aimed at those that want the best in mobile technology but also be able to slip their phone in their pocket whilst out and about, Nokia found with its original N97 model that it was just that little bit too big for some people and it seems HTC agree this with their HD2 model.
The one change comes in the size of the on-board processor, the HTC HD2 packs a 1GHz chip to power its massive 4.3 inch touch screen whilst the HTC HD Mini does not need the same amount of power with its smaller screen and still runs applications and menu features just as fast.
HTC have been busy of late releasing a range of new models, the new HTC Desire is their most advanced Android phone to date with the same 1GHz processor as the HD2 to power its 3.7 inch AMOLED display whilst the new HTC Legend is an upgraded version of the best selling Hero handset with even more features and manufactured from a single piece of aluminium for robustness.
LG's newly announced LG GD880 Mini is a new phone of interest offering the smallest housing available for any 3.2 inch touch screen handset, the exterior of this new phone is also very minimalist with no buttons available and the navigation taken care of by the touch screen.
The HTC HD Mini has now been made available on O2 pay monthly deals, this follows its initial launch as a SIM Free phone and more recently on the Orange network. There are further network launches planned with both Vodafone and T-mobile confirming contract tariffs for this latest HTC Mini phone.
