Without trying to be a good devotee or an advocate for a near perfect work of art, i cannot but register my satisfaction in a world class piece, a book i stumbled on and barely had time to read, so i took quality time ti skim through and came about some hard facts which i called life's divulged secret, for some of us the author helped to say the things we feared to say and engraved our actions in print; i refer to no other book but the 48 laws of power by Robert Greene.
I really feared to read the book after skimming through so i just went with the little i read and believe you me it has helped form and molded my opinion of life issues and simplified complexities.
We all grew up in life with fanciful dreams and tall ambitions, some we would never achieve, some heights we would attain, some we would admire others achieve, some we would latter despise as the ugly truth about our fantasies, but the beauty of it is it has helped shaped our thoughts and exposed us to something we would have been if given another life.
Life is beautiful, if the spot-lite is on you, you are celebrated and admired by all and sundry, everywhere you go, the attention you attract is beyond normal, your autograph is required and cherished, sometimes posted on the wall to inspire a dream, people sometimes find it pretty difficult to get your attention and of course new level bring new devils; you make enemies faster, this is because your enemies don't understand something, you are not to blamed, then are we to blame God for giving you a particular talent; for a writer, your beautiful mind, for a compere; the voice, for a movie star; your style- for all you care its the natural explanation of you,there's nothing to it, its just you, and when you consciously horn your skills to a a razor sharp edge and opportunity meet preparation, you become the man or woman of the moment- you are suddenly being announced to the world, the world for you is suddenly becoming a better place because you are passing by, isn't life beautiful?
Operating incognito in life has its so many advantages and demerits, for those who don not admire the lime-lite,well its not a bad idea to go through life without being known, because even history has a way of celebrating the less famous, especially if you played out your role in life perfectly and you understand your script. Our calling in life is divers; some are called renowned, famous and loud, while others are other are called to be the building blocks for the success of others, but in any case the role you play the way your script is a performed goes along way into determining whether or not you would be celebrated, and etch your name on the concrete by the sea shores of history, or your name would disappear into thin air like the steam from a boiling water- you choose?
This brings to mind the story of Achilles, from him the expression the expression Achilles-heels lives till date, he had a choice to go to war with the Greeks against Troy, but after he consulted his mother who told him if he decides to stay back he would never be known or be celebrated, he will lead a humble life, bear children and be a good husband to his wife, but if he goes to war, his name will be heard and his tale told t many generations after him.
Afterward, he choose to go to battle and lost his life after he told a woman his secret, but today you and me are reading of him because of his decision, some say its greed, over-ambition and the urge for fame, but would you rather go through life and operate incognito or get aloud standing ovation when you name is mentioned from the roll call of hall of famers?
