Obesity means excessive fat accumulation in the body
. Being over weighted also means obesity. This problem is considered for high-income group people but now it has affected the middle and low income groups also.
The cause of obesity and over weight is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expanded. The calories consumed must be balanced by the calories used each day. Excess calories intake will result in over weight and less calories intake will result in
Losing Body Fat. It is basically caused because of increased intake of foods that are high in fats and sugar and low in vitamins, minerals and other nutritional food that are essential for our body. Consumption of fruits, vegetables, nuts, fiber foods should be increased and intake of sugar, fatty and oily food should be reduced to a large extend.
Another important cause of obesity is due to lack of physical activities like gym, walking, yoga due to the change in life style, change in work pattern, change in standard of living, change in mode transportation etc.. Sitting at one place for hours makes the body stiff and restless. A brisk walking after every 2 hours is essential to keep the body active and fit.
Behavior and environment plays an important role in causing people to overweight and obese, which require great prevention and treatment. Some people have genetic problem like hereditary in their family, for example if his/her father, grandfather is suffering from obesity, then it may reflect his/her son or daughter. Genes, metabolism, culture, socioeconomic status all this affect the body weight.
These days obesity is considered as a major problem or a disease. Problems and diseases which can be caused by obesity or overweight are that it leads to coronary heart diseases, cancers, high blood pressure leading to hyper tension, high cholesterol, liver and respiratory diseases. All these diseases can be controlled by having healthy and a balanced body weight.
Thus implementation of all these plays a vital role in shaping a healthier environment and making healthier diet habit which is easily affordable and accessible to all the sections of the society. The food industry should reduce the intake of sugar, fats and increase the introduction of healthier, innovative and nutritional food choices which will help in making a healthier environment.
