In order to get your California guard card you will need to be properly trained at a licensed facility. You will need to complete an eight-hour certification course. After the course, you will receive a California guard card.
The cost for training is $60 and this includes your card as well. While there are other ways to receive the training, its important that the facility be licensed in order to work in this position.
