Office Wiring, Flooring And Ceilings All In A Day's Work For An Office Manager

Being an office manager can be a great job, but at the same time it can have some

pretty major drawbacks, especially when your company starts to expand and you have to start looking at new locations for expansion. Generally unless you are very lucky the building that you will be looking to move into will need some major refurbishment to bring it up to the required standard.

Maybe it will require some work done on the office ceiling or flooring and maybe it will need a whole array of office wiring to be rewired. You can probably guess whose remit all of this work will fall under. As the office manager it will be your job to liaise with the contract staff, arrange quotes and time schedules before relaying all of this information back to the management of your company for approval.

Of course once all of the office wiring, flooring and ceiling work has been approved it will then be your task to contact the appropriate company and start the next role along the chain, which will be the management and overview of the refurbishment. Obviously the company that you have employed to perform the work will have a manager, but it will be your task to liaise regularly with this individual to make sure that the work doesn't fall behind schedule, because if it does the blame will lay on your shoulders in the eyes of the management.

Thankfully for you, the internet is here and it is a wonderful resource which is filled with lots of information of companies that provide office wiring, flooring, ceiling or other refurbishment requirements to companies looking to move into new buildings. If you have been tasked with refurbishment plans in 2010, then make sure you do the appropriate levels of research first. Ask to check out the company's portfolio and maybe check out some of their previous work. The last thing you want to do is get to the week before you move in and find out that the company has performed a terrible job on the office wiring. Things like that can take years off of your life. Stress can age an individual prematurely.

One last piece of advice that I would offer is to make agreements about the contract. Set intervals when you will have achieved certain checkpoints by and then stick to them. Have penalties set in place if the company over steps the installation of the office wiring, flooring or ceiling by a long distance, so you can be compensated for any inconvenience caused.
