Ola Came Out In That Catsuit And I Thought, Good Lord Where's The Rest Of It?;

Maybe a little over the top.

Maybe a little over the top.

But it looks like Zentais Andrew Castle might just have salvaged the breakfast show's woeful reputation on the dancefloor.

The third host from the show to swap the comfort of the sofa for the sparkle of the sequins, Andrew made his debut on Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

QUEEN of mean Arlene Phillips loved his rhythm and Bruno Tonioli even compared him to Fred Astaire.

And the judges thought his toes proved twinklier than Kate Garraway's and our own Fiona Phillips', whose struggles became essential viewing for all the wrong reasons.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, extennis ace Andrew, 44, says: "Kate and Fiona are loving this. They know it'll be an ordeal.

But whatever you say about their performances in Catsuits, they both got quite far. Getting past the first week is a major result for me."

Phil Daniels and Don Warrington went head to head in the dance-off with the former EastEnder coming a cropper. Andrew confesses Saturday's opener was a terrifying experience. "I've walked along the wing of a flying aircraft, done a bungee jump and watched my wife give birth twice and this was by far the most intimidating," he says.

But if Andrew, whose partner is sexy Ola Jordan, is so nervous, why did he do it?

"My resistance was worn down," he admits. "Strictly first approached me about three years ago. And I was very close to taking part two years ago when Jimmy Tarbuck pulled out. I was honoured to be asked but I didn't have the bottle.

"Every element scares me. Sequins, shirts slashed to the navel and dancing in front of 10 million people.

"But I was on holiday in Spain for three weeks and I got thinking about it. I know now never to make an important decision on holiday with a glass of wine in your hand.

"It wasn't until I returned home that the unspeakably grim reality hit me."

Still, if Ola, who made it to the quarter-finals last year with rugby star Kenny Logan, carries on wearing outfits as eye-popping as Saturday's skintight leopard-print catsuit, he can't have too many complaints.
