Optimisation for a website is of two kinds: on page and off page

The spam probability of a page's keyword density is determined using statistical functions by finding the normal distribution of the keyword on webpages. The normal distribution of a particular set of keywords amongst all webpages that use those keywords will determine the webpages that are flagged as spam and webpages that are not. The number of keywords that appear on a page has to be approximately normal against all webpages with that keyword.


The Title tag - This is a very important part of your page and there are a couple of things to remember. Your main keyword, the keyword that will drive the most traffic to your site should be placed in the title tag and as near to the beginning as possible. Your title tag should be the first line of code after your head tag and should attempt to draw in customers.

Your homepage should include some textual content, giving you the option to show the search engines and viewers what your website is all about and to persuade the search engines to index you for your relevant category. Your content should be kept short but not too short as to make it look keyword stuffy. Make sure you highlight some keywords with the BOLD tag and place some keywords in hyperlinks that link internally to other pages.


Give users what they are looking for in a way that is easy for them to access. Whether it's a site aimed at business people or holiday makers, or the youth, or the general public - make visiting your pages a memorable experience. If people know they can get relevant information quickly by visiting you, not only will they keep coming back to your site: there will also be willingness and a certain trust when it comes to doing business with you.
