On the Regular Maintenance of Your Corvette Brakes
Every car owner knows the importance of car brakes
. But its quite possible that while you spend your time in doing up your engine a bit more and buying some fancy accessories to jazz up your car, buying smart wheels and tires or painting the Corvette in bright colors, changing the upholstery or fitting some new exterior parts you may not be able to devote time to the Corvette brakes. This state can be easily avoided if you were to periodically take the car for brake maintenance even if it means that the brakes are checked for the condition of the brake pads and little else.
Routine maintenance of Corvette brakes may require you to top up the brake oil from time to time. At times, you may need to change the brake pads. When this is the case, you may like to replace the pads with Street brake pads for the rear and the OEM pads for the front. These are both ceramic brake pads and theres a substantial reduction in the black dust that builds up on the wheels when you use these pads. Keep some brake fluid strips at all times as well as a bleeder tool that could be the Max Pro or DIY. Alternatively, you could order the bleeder tool with the bottle adaptor and tube as one pack.
While servicing the Corvette brakes you may need to order the rotor packages that come in 2 pieces. Another set has rotor racing 13.4 for the rear or the 14 rotor racing for the front. Both come in 2 pieces. The Corvette brake caliper cover set of four could be ordered plain or in the body color matched. You could order the brake pad cover set in high polished stainless steel and the Corvette brake rotor hub covers that could be ordered in black, red or chrome. It may be more economical to order one of the high performance packages that have the drilled and slotted rotors for both 13 for the front and 12 for the rear. The package also contains brake fluid and DOT approved stainless steel brake lines.
