Manga is a Japanese word which literally means "whimsical pictures"

. Unlike other countries, manga is not categorized for children alone. In Japan, it is widely read by people irrespective of age. Also the variety caters to the needs of people of all ages which includes subjects like romance, action, adventure, sports, historical drama, comedy, fiction, among others.Some of them have even been adapted into movies. Manga is also used as an effective medium to learn the Japanese language. It is believed that Manga came into existence shortly after World War II. Since then, Manga have gained a phenomenal growth to form a major part of the Japanese publishing industry, which accounts to a whopping rise of 406 billion yen market in Japan. Japan has the largest comic industry compared to its major competitors, the United States and France. As per the sales survey, manga's by name naruto manga, one piece manga and bleach manga are considered to be the bestsellers of 2008. It shows that one piece manga occupies the first place which is closely followed by naruto manga, while the fifth place is occupied by bleach manga. This is a testimony that Japan is the world leader in comics.

Hobbies, in general, are a good source of recreation for the present day mechanical life. Hobbies include art, reading, gardening, dancing, writing, singing, sports and lots more. Reading is one among the hobbies which is widely followed by everyone, irrespective of age or sex. There are different genres of books available for reading, which include philosophy, religion, romance, action, fiction, comedy, adventure and so on. The choice of genre depends largely on the individual's taste and interest. For instance, children, in particular, always opt for comics and fiction. They prefer such books as they are adventurous, magical as well as action-oriented. There are some exceptions where even grown-ups go in for such comics. For example, in Japan, comic series by name 'manga', a very famous and renowned one, is read by people of all ages. Some of the very much acclaimed and ongoing series include naruto manga, bleach manga and one piece manga. Each series is special and unique in its own way, which has catapulted audience and fame across the globe. Hence, reading is a good habit which must be inculcated at a very young age. It opens the doors of creativity and allows the entry of lateral thinking.
