One-minute Stress Relief Technique Using BodyTalk

We all know that stress can be unhealthy. We need a certain amount of stress in our lives to keep us alert, but an excess or accumulation of stress is detrimental to our health. How does stress affect you?
Stress activates your fight, flight or freeze mode. It diverts resources from the systems that are not needed in an emergency situation, so the digestive system, the immune system, and the decision-making part of your brain weaken. You become vulnerable to illness, and thoughtful decision-making becomes harder.
When our nervous systems developed, our environment meant that we only felt stress for short periods, like when we were being attacked. Once the threat was over, we calmed down, as an animal does, shaking off the tension and resuming a calmer life. But today life is not that clearly defined and we are constantly triggered by more and more supposed emergencies. Increasingly our immune system and our bodies are impacted. With so much stress it's little surprise that we are getting allergies, aches and pains or digestive issues. We think that we've suddenly become ill, but in fact it has built up over a long period of time.
Stress Relief technique
When you are in the healing state your body can start to rest, digest, and restore harmony. Rest and sleep allow those other body systems to come back online and your body can again focus on healing. Unfortunately your body now has a bigger workload. As well as trying to keep your major systems functioning, it also tries to undo some of the stress damage.
