Christmas gift ideas, magazines have started writing articles on how much people love/hate Christmas and we are already thinking about the possibility of buying new decorations to lace our abodes in during the festive season.

Apart from the Turkey on Christmas day there is one small, daily ritual we cannot be without in the lead up to Christmas, the all-important advent calendar.

There are the traditional calendars that involve 24 candles being lit in the lead up to Christmas, handcrafted offerings that involve buying 24 special gifts to treasure over the course of the 24 days or in fact you could just pop into your local supermarket for a cheap, chocolate fuelled treat.

Supermarket and retailers tend to sell their calendars at anything from between a pound and ten pounds whereas the few of us mere mortals that can afford more of an open budget will probably go for something that is very much similar to that of the calendar designed by Porshe for a massive one million dollars (a little over budget perhaps).

Porshe Design has made the world's most expensive and luxurious advent calendar to date. The design may be a little unconventional compared to the cardboard slim box you are used too as it stands in nearly a 6 foot tall aluminium square that costs around one million dollars (640,000) and includes some rather random luxuries such as a fitted kitchen, a yacht, Porshe indicator watch and even 18-carat gold sunglasses.

What a great way to count down the days until Christmas, certainly beats my dairy milk option and definitely paves the way for future manufacturers like Landrover, Audi and Audi " target="_blank" title="audi">Citroen to get involved!
