The first thing you need to do is put your picture up. It's amazing how many men put up a profile with no picture. Like it or not, the first thing women look for is a picture. Studies show that profiles with pictures get 10 times more hits than profiles that don't. Also, if a woman does happen to answer your ad and asks for a picture, don't bother telling her to "trust you" and that you actually look like the latest Hollywood actor. Men who don't put up a picture are either too lazy to put up their picture or they're ashamed of the way they look. Either way, you're going to lose.

Dummy Dating Tip #2 Invest in Your Profile

Once you've got a nice photo up of yourself, preferably a professional photo, you need to work on your profile. I've found that when I really took the time to think about what I wanted to put in my profile and my goals in putting up the profile, I got lots and lots of hits. #3 Approaching Women Online

Now that we've got the basics in place, it's time to start approaching women online. But first, it's important to know what kind of relationship you're looking for before you even approach a woman. If you're looking for "casual relationships," you need to define what "casual" means. Do you mean you want sex with no strings attached? Do you want to just be friends?

Everyone has different ideas of what "casual" means. You need to be clear on what it means to you, and then your profile, screen name, and your approach to women must convey that. If you're not clear on your goals, dating online can quickly become a mine field.
