What I suggest, instead of thinking of a number of pounds to lose, think of your ideal weight instead. When you think of losing 30 pounds, it just seems like a mountain of weight that you will never climb. It's no wonder you're not even trying. Think of your ideal weight instead. It doesn't matter if its 115 or 165 or 210 pounds. Your not trying to lose 30 pounds, you're trying to get to your ideal weight. Don't put a figure on it, it takes all the pressure off of you. And it allows you to put a positive association with your weight loss goals instead of a negative.

Find a diet plan that doesn't put the emphasis on low calorie eating and strenuous exercise even makes it easier for positive associations. And, you can lose weight this way.
