Opera Pushes HTML5 Web Apps for connected devices

Norway-based Opera company is trying to facilitate the manual to get their phones to TVs and other devices

. With the introduction of new content development kit(CDK) , available for free in http://dev.opera.com/sdk/ , video publishers can build applications based on Internet standards which will be available in many devices.

Today, video editors who want to reach customers who have bought Samsung Year of broadband connected devices, set-top box or approaching Boxee Box create various applications for each platform, each of which, which requires of its user interface, file formats and the like.(This makes the feat of making Netflix streaming service available on over 100 different devices from different manufacturers marking the more impressive.)

But through the development of applications based on Internet standards, publishers will be able to reach many of the devices from the same interface, if they are to modern browsers such embedded as Opera. CDK, since it enables content companies to build user interfaces as standard HTML5, CSS and Javascript, you will not need to develop a number of separate applications for consumer devices.

Currently, the Opera browser is connected to 56 different devices, including Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DSi, Ford Truck navigation systems, televisions, Sony, Philips televisions, Toshiba televisions. In the third quarter, Opera also struck deals to get on TV and the device from Sharp, Samsung, LG and Vizio. But there is hope that more manufacturers of consumer electronics will be posted on their web browser connected devices, opening up access to Internet content that are available outside the walled garden of the individual components of the application.

Opera CDK can be installed on any computer with Linux and includes the ability to create and debug the various portals, applications, widgets and websites, which are based on Opera-enabled televisions and other devices. CDK allows you to simulate the limited availability of RAM, screen size determined based on equipment and testing and debugging with Opera Dragonfly debugging program.
