Operation strategy "" Under this responsibility an operations manager determines key types of equipment and resources to enhance quality control.

Support Services - Operations managers may boost the delivery of various services in areas such as accounting or IT. In consulting with the IT department, the operations manager may coordinate and procure new servers or IT equipment to assist with the efficiency of the company's product or service.

Third-party management - In this role, an operations manager may facilitate third-party services or products for security, personnel and office/ production equipment.

Breaking Down the Role of Project Manager

On a smaller, but just as important scale is the management of a specific project within the daily operational functions of a business. These project-based ventures or initiatives require a start date, a number of departmental tasks and a delivery date. A Project Manager's responsibility would be to administer and supervise the delivery of a project within its planned scope, defining the various business units involved, determining the resources required, creating a schedule, monitoring quality control, and managing project risks and issues.

Develops budgets and cost estimates - A project manager may be required to define a budget for the project and provide cost estimates to upper management.
