You will need to fit them over the drive wheels of your car and they will help to stop them from slipping on the road surface as you drive.

Snow socks come in generic sizes, unlike snow chains, so you wont need to buy a special set of them that will fit your car and your car only. They are often sized by small, medium and large, and all you need to do is check your tyre wall and note the measurements listed there. This will tell you the width, profile measurement and rim size of your tyres, and you can then use this information online to find out which snow socks you need.

When using your snow socks you should remember not to go over a certain speed limit, usually 40km/h, as they are not designed for high speeds. Also, you should never brake suddenly in icy conditions, even when using snow socks.
