Optimize Your Video For You Tube
As an online entrepreneur, you probably agree that you need to optimize your website for Google possibly for Yahoo and maybe even for Bing
, but since when do you have to optimize anything for You Tube? Well, in fact, we are talking here about video optimization, not site optimization, and the focus of those efforts is You Tube. Why? ComScore, a leading Internet research company that collects usage data has been keeping an eye on how Usage has been changing. In the fall of 2009 Comscore reported that there were 12.9 billion searches in July 2009.Of course Google ranked 1 with 9.2 billion searches that month. But, YouTube ranked 2 with 3.6 billion searches, ahead of Yahoo! with 2.7 billion searches, and Bing with 1.0 billion searches.

Video has become an enormously popular medium on the Internet
Internet users are not using Google to find videos they are going directly to You Tube to search for videos.
The bad news is that users do not seem to be going to individual websites to watch video. The good news is that there is a huge audience at You Tube waiting to be entertained by your company video, if they can find it, that is.
Like Google, You Tube uses a search algorithm to look for videos that match user queries. NOTE WELL: they are searching their own site, not the whole Web, so if your videos are not listed within You Tube, they will not be found by You Tube's search process.
You Tube Optimization
First, be sure that you shoot your video with a digital video cam or that you have a converter box, which will convert the analog signal from the camcorder to a digital signal that the computer can understand. After the video has been digitized, you can manipulate it further or upload it. Once you have copied the video from your phone, camera, or camcorder to your computer, you can bring the video into an editing program and add effects, titles, and music to make your video look and sound more interesting.
You Tube recommends that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files- these are the most common formats and they work well within their system. They specifically recommend the MPEG4 Divx, Xvid format at 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube.
When you upload your video, you will need to choose at least one category and enter at least one tag to describe the content in your video. Adding this information helps the You Tube spiders to understand what your video is about. Make your tags as descriptive as you can use different words separated by
commas.
