Options To Review When Planning A Vacation To Hawaii

There are times when we all need some time away from the anxieties of day-to-day life

. A vacation to Hawaii can allow you time in the sun to take it easy and have some fun.

The Hawaiian weather is great all year round with gentle warm breezes a perfect change to the colder conditions back home, and during summer you have an 85 degree sun cooled by the refreshing tradewinds coming in from off the ocean. It's not too cold and never too hot.

While planning a family vacation to Hawaii, you might prefer to stay on one island or make plans to visit other islands.

Oahu is one of the most visited islands in Hawaii. Even if it is only to change planes at the Honolulu airport, most vacationers go to Oahu. On Oahu, there's the modern city of Honolulu, which is Hawaii's state capitol. You will also discover world famous Waikiki beach. On the southern shore are Pearl Harbor and the museum which honors the USS Arizona which was sunk at the beginning of World War II.

Just north of Oahu, you will find the island of Kauai. This happens to be the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. You'll find a great deal of natural beauty and plenty of options for unique escapades and outdoor attractions. The Coconut Coast boasts golden sand beaches and to the opposite part of the island is Waimea Canyon. This canyon is well-known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Travel south from Oahu and you'll find the island of Molokai. Molokai has a substantial concentration of persons of native Hawaiian ancestry, and they remain strongly linked to their remarkable traditions and customs of the past.

Lanai is less populated compared to the rest of the Hawaiian Islands, and is ideal for a quiet and relaxing Hawaii vacation. Life is somewhat slower paced on Lanai, there aren't any traffic lights and it is excellent if you would like privacy and a more casual vacation than you find on Oahu. Lanai also features two excellent golf courses.

And then we come to Maui, the second largest Hawaiian island. This island is located in the middle of the humpback whale migration route, so it's exceptional for whale watching at the right time of year during the winter season. The beaches here are outstanding, and the first choice for many people wanting a peaceful beach vacation.

The Big Island of Hawaii is certainly that - big. The island possesses more land area than all of the other islands combined. Of the thirteen climatic zones which are on earth, eleven are found here. On Hawaii's Big Island is an active volcano, sandy beaches and snow covered mountains.
