There are so many sources of information about trading stocks on the web these days that it is getting harder to distinguish the quality sources from some of the people that don't really know what they're talking about. If you are new to the stock market and looking for a stock trading tutorial, then you need to be aware of what makes a tutorial useful.
The first thing that I look for in a stock trading tutorial is whether the tutorial is selling a system. If the author of a tutorial is selling their system I read the tutorial with a suspicious eye. I have no problem with someone selling a stock trading system, it's just that the information they give out often just covers what a person needs to know in order to find their product appealing. Another thing that I would look for in a good walk through is whether or not the it starts from the beginning. Does the walk through offer background information on what stocks are? Can you learn how stocks are traded on the exchanges? Does the tutorial take you through the steps of setting up a trading account and let you know what your options for brokers are? These are a few of the beginner subjects that all stock market educational sites should include.
That being said, I prefer the tutorials that push the reader to do more research. The articles that tell the reader to do experimentation on their own are the most valuable. Find a site that will give you enough information to get started learning about trading stocks, but lets you determine for yourself what the best trading methods are.
