One of the most basic options for accessible vehicles is a ramp system. This is also known as a conversion system because it converts a normal minivan or full size van over to become accessible. This type of system can come with many different options. Some are rear loading, and some are side loading. If the person needs to then move over into one of the vehicle's seats, the transfer can be done out of the weather. They also use conversion systems that are automatic so that they don't have to worry about any of the manual portions of getting ramps in and out. Also, these drivers can use automobile hand controls. These are controls that are basically hooked up to the gas pedal and brakes. They can be complicated to learn, but one a driver can control the direction, speed, and braking of the car with the hands, they open up a lot of doors for mobility consumers.
