Orphanage Programs
When a child loses his or her parents at a young age
, they are forced to rely on the kindness of close relatives or strangers. They are bounced from place to place and more often than not can end up on the street or in trouble. Orphanages are built to protect these children from that fate. In an orphanage, they can teach and nurture children so they can grow up well adjusted and loving human beings.
Some of these programs include day care facilities. This is where the education begins. In these head start classes they can play and interact with other children, express creativity through arts and crafts, begin learning the alphabet and numbers, and even start to learn life skills like how to take care of their bodies and eat good foods.
After daycare they can get a real education. Instead of being street smart and knowing how best to steal their dinner, orphans can learn important life skills. They are taught math, reading, writing, and history. They will learn valuable skills about how to take care of themselves when they are older. They'll learn cooking, cleaning, and other important life skills they can take with them for the rest of their lives.
Apart from education orphanages across the globe are treating children with medical problems. These can range anywhere from external conditions like broken bones to viruses and even deeper diseases. This is certainly not a service these children would find if they did not have a large, loving support group like an orphanage. Many of these children could die unexpectedly if they were still without care. Thankfully they will always have a place to go as long as there are orphanages that tend to the every need of every child.
Most orphanage homes are run on donations from people all over the world. These donations fund the schools, buy the supplies, pay their tuition for higher education, and pay for the medical bills and supplies they might incur during their stay at an orphanage.
After they leave, these children are well-rounded, well-adjusted young adults that are ready to tackle the world happily and with the right tools. This could never have been the case for them if they hadn't had such a fantastic support group that offered them programs like education and healthy living. It's so important to keep these programs running so children for generations to come can benefit from them.
