A Brazilian is different from whats known as a bikini wax. A bikini wax is when the wax technician removes the hair that is around the bikini area, such as the hair that is on the upper thighs. With a Brazilian wax, however, youll have almost all hair below your belly button removed. When you have a Brazilian wax you will be allowed to select if youd like to have a strip of hair remaining, known as a landing strip, but many women opt to have all of the hair removed at once.

A Step-By-Step Look

So what happens when you go into a waxing salon to get your Brazilian wax? First youll be brought back into a private room, where youll be asked to remove your pants and your underwear and to lay down on the table that is in the room. It should be covered with sheets or clean paper. Some salons offer a paper thong that you can wear, and if youd feel more comfortable wearing one, dont hesitate to request one.

The waxing technician needs to have the hair at of an inch long in order to wax it, which is why they tend to trim the hair if its too long or will send home people if its too short. Dont trim it up yourself, let the professional do it. Talcum powder will be put on the skin to keep the wax from sticking to the skin, and then its time to get down to business. The wax technician will put warm wax on your skin and will put a small piece of cloth over it. Once the wax has cooled down a bit the technician will pull the wax off, which then pulls the hair follicles out of your personal area.

The procedure will take a few minutes to complete, and you may find that your waxing technician actually pulls some of the stray hairs out with a tweezer. Lotion will then be put over the area that has been waxed, and then youll be free to go home! Brazilian waxes can be a great option for someone who loves the sun and wearing skimpy clothing, and while it can hurt a bit, the best technicians are very fast, and they do everything they can to make sure that the client goes through as little pain as possible.
