Outdoor tourism exhibition in Parma, Italy, from the 10th to the 18th of September

Do you have a passion for camping? Do you work in the field of camper van sale and rental? If you do, save these dates: 10th 18th September. In those days Parma, Italy, will host the second outdoor tourism exhibition, an event that was born last year but that has already become a must in the field of outdoor tourism.

Following the success achieved last year, feverish preparations for the second exhibition are under way. Also this year the event will be organized by Fiere di Parma with APC (Caravan and Camper Manufacturers Association) in continuity with last year's exhibition, in view of the good results achieved in 2010, but there will also be some changes and improvements to make the event even more appealing and satisfying for visitors and exhibitors. In fact this is not a simple fair, but the exhibition that represents Italy in the circuit of ECF, the European Federation that deals with the promotion of caravanning and that represents the interests of the organizations that are commercially involved in this business, form the companies specialized in caravan sale to caravan manufacturers. The exhibition that takes place in Parma is one of the international events that depend on the ECF and that are well-known all over Europe, like the Caravan Salon of Dusseldorf and the Salon des Vehicules de Loisirs of Paris. An important acknowledgement for the exhibition, which includes also a permanent observatory on camper and outdoor tourism managed by CISET, the International Center of Studies on Tourism of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

The Outdoor Tourism Exhibition of Parma is meant to be a privileged observation point on the world of caravanning and everything concerning it, a meeting point for those who work or are interested in this field, and an important showcase for exhibitors coming not only from Italy but also from abroad. 33% of the 235 exhibitors that took part in the first exhibition, indeed, came from abroad. There were also 20 foreign delegates, 4 of them coming from outside the EU. Most exhibitors (50%) belonged to the field of accessories, 31% to the sector of camper vans and caravans and 19% to tourism press and associations. Also the data concerning the number of visitors are outstanding: over 133.000 camping and outdoor tourism lovers and professionals visited the 90.000 m2 exhibitory space, with a peak on the opening day.

Expectations for the second year of the exhibitions are very high, also because much has been done to improve the offer of the event - not only as exhibitors is concerned - with an expansion of food and hospitality services and renovations of the exhibitory space, in order to meet the needs and desires of visitors in the best possible way. There will be, for example, two new pavilions of 50 m2, camping areas, a children's space and many interesting entertainment events.
