Outsourcing Tip: Don't Let Your Virtual Assistant Second Guess You
For those of you who are just starting to think about outsourcing your work for your
company to freelancers or to virtual assistants, the first thing that you have to remember is never to let your virtual assistant second guess you.
When you are outsourcing this means that you should already have a clear cut idea of what you want done at a certain time, a certain pace, establish how much you are willing to pay and most important of all, instructions on what they are supposed to do.
Some of the most disappointed companies make a major mistake when outsourcing, they think that the virtual assistant or freelancer they hire already knows how they think. Wrong.
Remember that no one can read minds, especially if it is across the ocean as most of the freelancers who work as virtual assistants are found. Most of these VAs work like robots and they only do what is clearly instructed them. If they make mistakes they will redo, but they are not expected to work without clear cut knowledge on what they are about to work on.
One of the main complaints that VAs talk about is their clients who demand that they do things a certain way and then get their work rejected because "This is not what was on my mind." These are statements that make the life of a VA miserable.
So, if you are a company who wishes to hire a good virtual assistant, you will find them; just make sure that you are clear on what you want. List down what you want done, how they are to be done and why. If you have samples that can be used as templates, then send them along with your instructions. Otherwise your VA who is normally a good worker will only give disappointing results.
Another thing to remember, if the VA really likes your system and you pay well, that VA will drop other clients in your favor and you will have a great outsource in your hands. So clear up everything before you ask for a thing done and you will not ever be disappointed with your VA.
