Ovarian and Follicular research needed forrepair of infertility in women
by G. M. Wani PhD,DVM (Germany)
The clinicians are looking for advanced wisdom on biology and physiology of the mammalian ovary especially those of ruminants, primates and women. The recent investigations discussed(wani,2011), have useful clinical outcomes. The polycystic ovarian syndrome cure has been found as ovarian drilling to be discussed in following chapters. The cellular investigations of the ovarian follicle has given new hopes for the use of early primordial follicle which are numerous and have future solutions to women needing radiotherapy and or those having other defects of the genitals needing assisted reproductive technology use.
The role of leukocyte ,like macrophages in the ovary vies in vies their interaction with the cells surrounding oocyte like theca and granulose cells has already been repotted and has added enormous information to be used for clinical purposes. A number of investigations are in progress on the interrelationships between diet, nutrition, vies in vies ovarian function.
The androgen receptors and many polymorphic studies concerning the androgen receptors may help many aspects of reproductive disorders. Much information on basal lamina and granolas epithelia along with somatic cell regeneration of the ovary may lead us to new conclusions of significance in clinical cases.
The egg timer test repotted from the RCRH,in 2004 has helped the assisted reproductive success in women. The timer gives details of good quality embryo within women at any given time. It uses the blood hormone levels and pelvic ultrasound. The use of ovarian reserve by using the early follicle for invitro maturation and fertilization already hinted in earlier pages has given new hopes for the infertile cure and repair, both in animals and humans.(Norman et al,2011) Oocyte and Early Embryo Development
The oocyte maturation, fertilization and early embryo development is another land mark achieved in last few years. An identification of Fox ,cam and other factors responsible for the dormancy of the primordial follicle reserve before puberty and their successful revival into transferrable embryos has already given new hopes for their clinical use in fertility management in both animals and humans.
The influence of the external microenvironment surrounding oocytes and early embryos on embryonic programming and fetal development studied may further help to evolve more efficient and effective assisted reproductive techniques..Maternal factors programming oocyte and early embryo development leading to altered fetal and placental development. The molecular and biochemical signals regulating early development have already been isolated and reported.. This Program investigates the important step of oocyte maturation, fertilization and early embryo development. A significant importance of this research is its clinical and veterinary application, especially in assisted reproductive technologies, as well as understanding basic mechanisms involved in development.
The influence of the external microenvironment surrounding oocytes and early embryos This shall help embryonic and fetal development. Maternal factors, programming oocyte and early embryo development may help to develop and study fetal and placental development. What is dearly needed is diagnostic evaluation of sperms and oocyte. The regulation of oocyte maturation and cumulus cell function by paracrine/gap junctions.
onal signalling between the 2 cell types. The physiological and molecular mechanisms of oocyte cytoplasmic maturation in animal models and development of methods for clinical application in assisted reproductive technology. Investigations of interactions between hormones (steroids, gonadotrophins) and paracrine growth factors in follicle regulation both in animals and humans. Role of seminal components in regulation of follicle and corpus luteum development and function. Oocyte maturation in animal models and development of methods for clinical application in assisted reproductive technology both for animals and humans is needed..Investigations of interactions between hormones (steroids, gonadotrophins) Embryo Implantation and Placental Development, Endometriosis Impaired placental trophoblast invasion of the endometrial has been implicated in a variety of pregnancy complications including implantation failure, recurrent miscarriage, intrauterine growth restriction, pre-term birth and preeclampsia. The molecular mechanisms that control differentiation of the endometrial to create the implantation window and accommodate an invading embryo, placental trophoblast invasion, differentiation and function.
Endometriosis is a condition where the lining of the womb grows at sites in the pelvis causing period pain and sub fertility for 6-10% of reproductive aged women. Sufferers of endometriosis require surgery to obtain a diagnosis and then often require repetitive and chronic treatment for this condition. It needs to be studied. Reproductive Immunology
The acceptance of foreign-to-the-body sperm and the implantation of the embryo. This aspect needs discussion and reviewed .The early embryo loss is a result of immunological rejection .Immunology of the female immune response to embryo implantation needs to be discussed .The role of semen in maternal immune tolerance, cytokines leukocytes in embryonic development and embryo implantation and fetal growth has been researched but still has many questions
