I recently purchased a Radeon HD 4830, The Radeon HD 4830 is faster than a GeForce 9800GT, but not much so I want to overclock it , but i dont know but i what software should i use and how to overclock a graphics card. i am with intel quad Q6600 and ddr2 ram, windows xp. any help on this will be appreciated. my Overclocking & Computer Modification

You can directly used the Overdrive present in the Catalyst drivers. Originally the HD 4830 has 575 MHz core and memory at 900 MHz. With this card you could push the memory up to 990MHz on a stable core and it has been particularly swift since it has not flinched at 700 MHz, which is nevertheless the maximum frequency that were authorized for the Overdrive our GPU. That makes overclocking to 125MHz for the core and 90MHz, which is quite correct. my Overclocking & Computer Modification

To overclock this beast, nothing could be easier with the ATI Tray Tools software, which detects the card perfectly. The maximum stable frequency with that of HD 4830 from HIS are 700 MHz for the GPU and 1070 MHz for the memory: not bad compared to 575-900 base! run the 3d mark test for performance.

To overclock this card first check the idle temperature of this card, also Make sure you have the latest drivers from ATI.com. Try using different utilities to overclock-tray tools,rivatuner,etc. If the idle temperature is around 55 and above, then do not overclock this card cause the card will become unstable and your computer would restart, so overclocking is not recommended. my Overclocking & Computer Modification
