, especially when you are folding paper on a daily basis from your desk. One machine I recommend you consider looking at is the Formax FD 305 from ABCOffice.com. This high-end desktop paper folding machine is considered to be one of the best. Having used this machine myself, I would like to offer you my own opinion. This is my review.

Having used several desktop paper folding machines, I have to say that most do a pretty good job. While there are minute differences between the different models, they all fold letters with a certain degree of professionalism. I was expecting the same "good" experience with the FD 305. Boy was I wrong. This machine wasn't good, it was amazing. There are many reasons for this.

Before I go into details on how to use this machine, I would like to start off by letting you know what sets it apart from the competition. To begin with, this is made by Formax. If you aren't familiar with Formax, they are one of the leading manufacturers of paper folding and inserting machines and paper shredders in the U.S. It should come as no surprise that they also do a pretty good job with their folding machines.

The bulk majority of the desktop letter and paper folding machines I have used are functional, but they aren't all pretty. Most machines have 2 slots located on top of the machine. Paper goes in one and comes out the other. If you are folding 1 or 2 sheets of paper, this isn't a big deal. If you need to fold a dozen or more sheets in a row, it is nice to have some sort of a feeder. Few machines in this range have an automatic feeder.

The FD 305 not only has a feed tray but also includes an exit tray. That's right! The FD 305, unlike many comparable machines, has an exit tray that catches paper as it leaves the machine. That means you don't have to be hovering around the machine the entire time to catch the paper before it falls onto the desk or floor. This machine will automatically stop once it is done folding paper.

The FD 305 creates one fold, the letter fold. If this is a problem, you may want to consider upgrading to an automatic letter folding machine with folding plates. For most people who are only folding letters from their desk, this machine is a dream. It is designed to work with letter size 8 1/2" x 11" paper.

Weighing in at 15 pounds shipped, and measuring in at 12" L x 5.6" W x 12.5" H, this machine is perfect for use on any table, desk or countertop. Weight isn't an issue. This folding machine is also extremely easy to pick up and move around.

If funds allow it, I highly recommend you consider using this letter folding machine. Keep in mind that it isn't designed for high volume us and isn't best for use with glossy or coated paper.
