Overview Of The Most Important Antibodies Used In Scientific Research

Around the world, countless scientists are undertaking complex research & lab experiments to get rid of virulent diseases such as Cancer

. Antibodies and proteins play a crucial role in scientific research undertaken by bench scientists. These allow researchers to accomplish quick scientific results with complete accuracy. There are innumerable types of antibodies available in the market, which help conduct research in a seamless manner. Today, there are various online stores that deal in a wide range of antibodies, proteins, biochemical molecules and other scientific reagents to meet different research requirements. Discussed below are some of the most prominent antibodies used by scientists across the globe.

1.CD31 Antibody Cluster of Differentiation 31 or better known as CD31 is a protein found in human body, which is encoded by PECAM 1 gene. This gene is usually found on chromosome 17. The PECAM 1 plays a crucial role in eliminating aged neutrophils from our body. It is found on the outer edge of monocytes, neutrophils, platelets and some T-cells as well. The CD 31 Antibody is widely used in immunohistochemistry to determine the presence of endothelial cells in histological tissue sections. It helps assess the degree of tumour angiogenesis.

2.CD163 Antibody This human protein is encoded by the CD163 gene. It is a scavenger receptor for the hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex. CD 163 plays an important role in the clearance of these complexes during limited hemolysis, which protects the human body, especially kidneys from heme-mediated oxidative damages. CD 163 is expressed by cells of monocytes-macrophage lineage and the extracellular part also circulates in plasma as a soluble protein, particularly during sepsis and other conditions that affect the macrophage activity.

3.CD34 Antibody This cluster of differentiation molecule that is present on specific cells in the human body is used for encoding protein. Now, the protein which is encoded by this gene plays a crucial role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells. This single-pass membrane protein is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have also been found for this gene. CD 34 is expressed on lymph node endothelia whereas the L-selectin to which it binds is on the T cell.Conversely, under other circumstances CD34 has been shown to act as molecular "Teflon" and block mast cell adhesion, or to facilitate opening of vascular lumens.

The above mentioned antibodies & proteins can be easily obtained from a reliable online proteins supplier. One must take utmost care in choosing an antibodies supplier. Always do a thorough research before buying a specific antibody for your scientific research.
